p.s. A wee spot more music

About 10 years ago I went up to the Lakes for the weekend with just about my oldest friend, and his fiance. They had a cottage with a television and video player, and it was decreed that we were to watch Riverdance.

My heart sank, as (i) I rarely enjoy music on first hearing it, (ii) if I don’t enjoy it I want to run screaming from the room, and (iii) I was appalled by the prospect of having to watch a bunch of people jumping around in some sort of Irish (or indeed any) dancing.

Anyway, it turned out to be one of the most fantastic musical experiences I’ve ever had, and I was completely CAPTIVATED AND ENTHRALLED by the incredibly sexy Spanish dancer! Wow, would I like to be able to do that!! The music is abandoned and utterly joyous. The whole thing was so fantastically wonderful that I had to stop in Keswick on the way home and search the shops for a copy of the video. They didn’t have one (surprise…) and I had to make a detour to Manchester. The first thing I did when I got home was to watch it all again.

Grilling my Halloumi just now, the music came onto my MP3 player and I was just as thrilled as the first time I heard it. If you’ve not listened then learn from my mistake and give it a go. You might just love it 🙂

p.s. if you listen, give it a chance to get going. The heart-stopping music starts at about 1:48.
